How Malaysian Insurance Companies Respond to 🅽🅾🆅🅴🅻 🅲🅾🆁🅾🅽🅰🆅🅸🆁🆄🆂 (2019-nCoV)
Updated: Jan 9, 2021
AIA, , Great Eastern, and Prudential are the first 3 of the insurance companies which have made express statements stating that their medical plans will cover cases of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) – more commonly known as the Wuhan Coronavirus . Of course, this is subject to the terms and condition of each policyholder’s medical plan.
“Prudential in Malaysia confirmed that we will extend medical coverage to our customers, for admission in relation to any 2019-nCov infection within Malaysia – subject to any other terms and conditions,” said Prudential Malaysia in its Facebook post on 26 January.
AIA and Great Eastern posted similar announcements to that effect on their Facebook pages.
Other insurance companies like Zurich and Gibraltar BSN shared precautionary steps to stay healthy during the coronavirus outbreak, but did not directly address the issue of medical coverage in relation to the disease.
Please take note that Medical Insurance only covers the treatment, NOT the Quarantine.
